Dance Recital (1951)

From CHRISTOPHER:

13 Years Old. I recall this as though it were yesterday. I tap danced to a song called, "At Sundown." To this day, if I hear the music, my tendency is to get up and do the steps. I took this number to a Talent Contest sometime later, and won First Prize.

There was a local Talent Scout in the audience, and he ultimately had me performing in many theatrical productions around town, and in San Francisco.

Christopher photo on the sheet music for the song Stranger In The Night

Stranger In The Night

Yes, before there was 'StrangerS in the Night,' there was 'Stranger in the Night.'

From CHRISTOPHER:

Don't ask me how my picture got on the cover of this sheet music, for I have no idea. Of course, at the time, I thought it was a big deal. I think I was 19 years old here. I'd been in Hollywood for about a year, so..... ANY kind of publicity was very important to me.

From the look on my face, I gather I was still quite innocent and naive!
